Your Spending Habits and Behaviors Matter

1 min 164 words

At the office, two colleagues and I are all benefiting from Tokopedia Plus subscriptions, which come bundled with vouchers for Gojek services, including perks like free delivery up to a certain amount.

Curious to see how these benefits translate in practice, we decide to conduct a little experiment: purchasing an item—a three cup of coffees totaling IDR 54K (excluding additional charges like service and delivery fees).

To our surprise, despite all of us benefiting from the free delivery perk, we noticed a significant difference in the charges incurred:

  • I was charged 40K.

  • Colleague A was charged 36K.

  • Colleague B was charged 24K.

What struck us even more was the discrepancy in the value of the additional coupon we redeemed. While my coupon was worth only up to 15K, my two colleagues received higher amounts.

Upon reflection, we realized that our individual spending habits and behaviors on the Gojek app played a pivotal role in determining the value of the ready-to-redeem coupon in our accounts.
